Notebook sales to outpace desktop sales in 2009.

As it was predicted by some experts the sales of the notebook computers has already started affecting the sales of traditional desktop computers. According to the figures of 2008 the sales of laptop computers has increased by almost 40 percent as compared to the sales in the year 2007. At the same time the sales of desktop computers decrease by almost 2 percent compared to the previous year. And time when notebook sales are more than desktop sales was expected by the experts to be in the near future but everyone was amazed to witness that in the last quarter of 2008 itself.

The year 2009 is definitely going to be the year of notebooks. The day when desktop computers will be a thing of past is not far away. The main reason for this sudden boost in the sales of notebook computers is the sudden decrease in prices and the comfort of use this breed of computers bring with it. Also this trend is bringing with it a serious problem too. The united states police has reported a steep increase in the thieft of laptops from 73,700 this year to 109,000 last year.

The desktop computers are also shrinking in terms of size day by day. The CRT monitor is replaced by better lcd monitors. Yet the thing remains the same that they are not portable. So, its your choice now to go for a small device or a much larger bulky device that costs a few bucks less. I personally will choose the lighter counterparts of the computer.
